My Journey as a Business Owner Living with Daily Challenges – Part 1: Why I Started Party Your World

Hello and welcome 💜
I’m really glad you’re here.

If you’re new around here, this post is the beginning of a personal blog series called “My Journey as a Business Owner Living with Daily Challenges” (shortened to My Journey for future posts). And if you’ve been following along already, I truly appreciate you being part of this journey with me. Today, I want to share the story behind why I started Party Your World and a little more about me, because this business and my life are deeply connected.

A Simple Conversation That Changed Everything

The idea for Party Your World started with a simple, honest conversation with my sister.

She was organising my nephew’s birthday party and told me about the mission she’d just been on. She told me she had to go to six different stores just to get everything she needed — decorations, plates, napkins, balloons, and more. On top of that, she was carting around a sleepy toddler, which made the whole experience feel like a mission on top of a mission.

By the time she got home, she was exhausted and overwhelmed, wishing there was an easier way to pull everything together. That moment stayed with me.

I remember thinking: There has to be a simpler, kinder way for families to celebrate.

I could see how much stress it caused, and it stayed with me. Parents should be able to celebrate their children without feeling exhausted before the party even starts. Celebrations are meant to be joyful — not another thing to survive.

 Inspired from the Heart

This business is deeply personal. It’s inspired by my nephews and nieces, and by the joy, imagination, and excitement they bring to celebrations.

Watching them light up over birthdays reminded me that it’s not about perfection or extravagance, it’s about connection, love, and creating memories that feel meaningful.

Party Your World was created to make things easier for families, without taking away the magic.

One box. One theme. Less stress. More time to enjoy the moment.

Living With Daily Challenges

To understand why this idea mattered so deeply to me, it’s important to share a little about my own journey.

I live with Cerebral Palsy, a neurological condition that affects movement and posture. There are around 17 million people worldwide living with Cerebral Palsy, and every experience is different.

For me, Cerebral Palsy occurred due to a lack of oxygen to my brain during pregnancy, caused by Cytomegalovirus (CMV) — the most common cause of CP. When I was diagnosed as a baby, doctors couldn’t predict what my future would look like. They didn’t know whether I would walk, talk, or live independently.

Today, my life looks very different. I live independently. I have travelled overseas with more places on my list. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Business Law. I’ve built a business from an idea into a reality. And I continue working toward personal goals that once felt out of reach — including walking on crutches again.

Living with Cerebral Palsy means no two days are the same. Some days my body cooperates easily; other days, even simple tasks take more effort. I’ve learned to take each day as it comes, adapt when needed, and never take progress for granted.

That mindset shapes how I live and how I run my business.

Bringing It All Together

Before starting Party Your World, my background was in event management — planning celebrations, coordinating details, and creating experiences that run smoothly. Completing my Business Law degree gave me the tools to turn an idea into a structured, sustainable business.

Party Your World sits at the intersection of:

  • my event management experience

  • my business and legal knowledge

  • my lived experience navigating daily challenges

  • and my belief that celebrations should feel accessible and joyful

I also have plans to further my studies in the future, continuing to learn and grow alongside this business.

Why I Started Party Your World

I started Party Your World because celebrations should feel joyful, not overwhelming. Because families deserve support. And because my own journey has shown me how powerful it can be when life is made just a little easier.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. 💜
This is just the beginning of this series — and I’m delighted you’re here.
